SafeWord for Citrix eliminates these password vulnerabilities with an easy-to-use (and very secure) one-time passcode system that users won't need to circumvent. Small handheld devices, called SafeWord for Citrix MetaFrame tokens, generate unique passcodes every time a user logs into their MetaFrame applications.
Strong authentication: security and convenience
SafeWord® for Citrix® MetaFrame® lets you positively identify users before giving them access to your critical MetaFrame applications. SafeWord for Citrix eliminates vulnerabilities of passwords with easy-to-use (and very secure) SafeWord for Citrix MetaFrame tokens.
What is strong authentication? Strong authentication refers to systems that require multiple factors for authentication and use advanced technology, such as secret keys and encryption, to verify a user's identity.
The simplest example of multi-factor authentication is your ATM card. This requires something you have (your card), and something you know (your PIN). You wouldn't want your bank to allow access to your account with just one factor. Yet your valuable MetaFrame resources can be accessed with only one factor--a weak password!
SafeWord for Citrix MetaFrame delivers security through one-time passcode-generating hardware tokens, combined with a user's PIN. When a Citrix user pushes the button on the SafeWord token, it immediately generates and displays a single-use passcode (via a unique secret key and an advanced encryption algorithm that is contained inside). The user enters the passcode, followed by the user's unique PIN, to gain access. The SafeWord server, with each user's token and PIN on file, can confirm the authenticity of each passcode presented by each user. After one use, the passcode is thrown away by the system. If someone attempts to re-use a passcode, access is denied by the authentication server. This virtually eliminates threats from outsiders stealing, copying, or reusing passwords
Simple to install: SafeWord for Citrix can install in minutes—on the servers you already have in your network. Other strong authentication solutions not only require the purchase of additional servers, but also need several hours or days of complicated installation and setup--not to mention expensive and time-consuming training.
No user management hassles: With SafeWord for Citrix, all users and tokens are managed in a tab in Microsoft's Management Console, using your existing Active Directory accounts. This means you can manage all your users in one place, without installing a separate user database. The Active Directory controls are complete and powerful, giving you command over all administrative aspects of the tokens and strong authentication for your Citrix users.
Effortless for users SafeWord for Citrix also includes a one-screen login for your Citrix
users, where all the credentials users need to authenticate can be
entered on a single screen.
Dramatically reduce the time and cost of deployment: SafeWord for Citrix MetaFrame offers the easiest, most cost-effective solution for deploying tokens to end users. With its embedded User Center and self-enrollment capability, SafeWord for Citrix allows you to radically reduce the overall time and costs of deployment--in some scenarios, organizations can save 85% over the cost of traditional token enrollment and distribution.
Requirements: If you have a functioning Citrix environment with MetaFrame XP, NFuse Classic Web Interface 1.7 or higher, and Microsoft Active Directory, SafeWord for Citrix MetaFrame is easy to install into your network.
